Mindowaskin Park

Mindowaskin Park is a local favorite and for good reason. Conveniently located right at the base of Downtown on East Broad, Mindowaskin offers beautiful scenery with fountains, little bridges and the center piece gazebo. This park is perfect for families as it has a large playground and a tranquil atmosphere. 

Brightwood Park

Brightwood Park is a 44 acre nature preserve tucked away off of Prospect St in Westfield. There are over a mile and a half of trails looping around the scenic pond. This park offers a perfect scene for picnics as well as taking in the local wildlife. 

Echo Lake Park

Echo Lake Park is located in Mountainside and it covers a whopping amount of land including areas for fishing, soccer, softball all with an abundance of trails throughout. Echo lake also has pedal boats, picnic areas, playgrounds, as well as a dog park for pet friendly people. This park does a terrific job of preserving a peaceful natural environment just outside of town.

Tamaques Reservation

Tamaques Park has over 100 acres of land for activities of all ages. This park is located off of Lamberts Mill Rd on the south side of Westfield and offers 18 picnic areas, 2 basketball courts, 8 tennis courts, 6 playing fields, 2 playgrounds, and a .8 mile jogging path. Tamaques also has a delightfully tucked away pond area. 

Watchung Reservation

Watchung Reservation is the largest nature reserve in Union County and it touches the city of Summit, the borough of Mountainside, and the townships of Berkeley Heights, Scotch Plains, and Springfield. This area is the home of a beautiful lake, a deserted village and plentiful opportunities to learn about the history and natural beauty of this distinct area.
